Parks Master Plan

A New Parks Plan for West Kelowna

The goals of the Parks Master Plan, adopted November 8, 2016, are community and Council driven and support the City of West Kelowna's Missions of fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, healthy living and economic enhancement. Goals include:

  • Celebrating our lakes and waterways
  • Protecting our enviornment
  • Showcasing our natural playground
  • Interconnecting the communiy
  • Leaving a legacy
  • Creating a healthy, vibrant and active community
The plan recommends 30 improvements to be implemented over the next 10 years or more.

Why Did We Update the Plan?

We created the last plan in 2010, and the City had completed most recommended projects:

  • Renovating CNR Wharf to create a premier waterfront recreation destination
  • Installing a children's water park in Westbank Centre Park
  • Building the new Rosewood Sports Field
  • Updating playgrounds and waterfront parks
  • Expanding our trail network
  • Creating community gardens
