Plan Area Location and Boundaries
The plan area (see map) under review by this project is located primarily to the west of Glenrosa Road and includes several un-serviced parcels to the north of Glenrosa Road. Upper Glenrosa is bounded on the north, south and west by Crown Provincial land (predominantly under tenure as Westbank First Nation Community Forest). To the east are primarily single family residential parcels within the residential neighbourhood of Glenrosa.
The majority of land parcels within the Upper Glenrosa area do not have community water and sewer systems. There is only one main access point to the neighbourhood from Highway 97.
Upper Glenrosa, within the larger context of the Glenrosa neighbourhood contains a fire hall, community centres, schools and has access to many nearby amenities including a number of community parks and larger open spaces such as Glen Canyon Regional Park, set on the eastern boundary of the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is located close to Telemark and Crystal Mountain for skiing and other outdoor activities.
